In the spirit of cheering for the underdogs, everyone can yell and scream for our grandson Ryan’s high school football team, The Seminoles!
They played the state championship game against Miami Northwestern who won almost all their games, and they played a lot of them! They’ve also won the state championship two times in a row. Most people were figuring on them winning it yet again.
In the first part of the game, that looked likely to happen. The Seminoles were trailing 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. Things looked grim.
But by the halftime, the Seminoles made a touchdown, and trailed 21-7. Better, but up against such a good team?
Never mind, just keep cheering for the underdogs! They made another couple of touchdowns to even things up. Then with just 33 seconds to go, the Seminoles got yet another touchdown, to make it a 28-21 lead.
YES… THEY WON! The headline in the Orlando Sentinel read “Seminole stuns Miami Northwestern for 6A state title“!!! The local tv station WFTV had a nice video too.
Keep an eye out when watching the videos – every once in a while you get a glimpse of #7, our very own Ryan!! Yay Seminoles! Yay Ryan!
