Llama vs. Goats
My little llama girl likes to hang out with the goats. She usually ignores the sheep, and sometimes just does her own thing, but mostly, she's with the goats. It will be interesting to see what happens when Samson, our soon-to-be-delivered male llama arrives.
However, at present, it's Kiera and the goats. As much as she likes the goats, she has one pet peeve. She does NOT want to share any feed with them.
If they persist in trying to eat her food, she finally lets them know in no uncertain llama terms, "That's it!"
Ahhh, llamas, they know how to get their point across!

That is THE funniest picture I have seen in a long time - great shot! I laughed out loud when I saw that. What timing! The caption is hilarious, too. Of course the goat walking past looks completely unfazed by the whole thing. "Like, whatever, maaaan." :-)
Does the llama have a French accent? Does he already have a Holy Grail? Am I really that big a geek that I'm asking these questions?
farmgirl_dk: Glad you liked it. It took me a while to catch her doing that in a picture. Most of the time I'd be too late!
richard: YES, you are that big a geek. And she's still looking for the Holy Grail - going to use it as a spittoon!
Gosh! What a terrific pic and story!
Do your goats mind getting spat at? Or do they come right back for more?
I've been trying to snap a photo of my two llamas arguing and Pffftttt-ing at eaach other for some time now.
Our female llama is amazingly tolerant of our angora goat. And our goat tried to steal her food all the time and even butts her in the neck to get to it.
Our male llama isn't as patient, though. He has no qualms about letting the goat know to 'butt' out! haha
Have you ever been spat at yourself?
I've had it happen once by my female llama when I annoyed her for just two minutes too long while grooming her. She got me 'good'.
Llama spit is the foulest thing I have ever smelled. I even had some in my mouth! (Ewww) I needed an immediate shower. haha
Thanks for the kind words about the pics - it *is* hard to catch them at it in a pic!
The goats usually leave her alone - at least for a little while - after she spits at them. She also stoops down and pushes them away with her neck.
The only time I got any llama spit on me was when I got in the way one time when she was aiming for the goats. Sure glad I had on sunglasses at the time. ha, ha! I'd hate to have that gunk in my eyes!
