As long as we make the coop critter proof the guineas are going to roam anyway. I think if we do put up a pen it will be like yours but it wont have a top anyway. So many things to think about!!! We don't bury our fence, though we put a board around the bottom, or "earth staples" to keep the bottom edge tight to the ground so it's not easy to go under.
