So it happened again.
I made a point of searching all over that feed room before I closed the door after morning chores, and yet, when I opened the door to get feed in the evening, this is what I saw:
Now I know that chicken was NOT in the feedroom when I shut the door earlier in the day.
To quote Sherlock Holmes, "when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."
So unless this chicken has learned how to teleport through walls, this is how she's been getting in:
I have NO idea how she was perching herself on the outside to be able to squeeze through that hole and get inside, but that's the only opening.
So, however improbable, that's how she was getting in.
The Farmer lowered the window, so we'll see if our theory is correct!
